Virginia woman charged for fire that killed her husband

A Virginia woman was charged with starting a house fire that badly burned her husband, who died earlier this week.

Scott Bartosch Jr, 51, died Monday from injuries suffered in the fire at his Stafford County home on Devonshire Lane last month.

His wife Lisa Schulken Bartosch was arrested and was charged with attempted murder and arson.

Investigators say the 52-year-old woman set fire to the house on May 1.

Court records state that a witness at the scene told police that Scott Bartosch said his wife 'doused me with gasoline and lit me on fire'.

The victim also said his wife was 'trying to kill' him, according to the Free Lance-Star.

10:09 AM I doubt she would be willing to do life due to your indiscretions. You are safe.

Is that attempted murder charge being revised to murder now that the husband has succumbed to his injuries at the hand of his wife?
