A Nevada physician says insurance companies in states where assisted suicide is legal have refused to cover expensive, life-saving treatments for his patients but have offered to help them end their lives instead.
Brian Callister, associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Nevada, said he tried to transfer two patients to California and Oregon for procedures not performed at his hospital. Representatives from two different insurance companies denied those transfer requests by phone, he said.
“And in both cases, the insurance medical director said to me, ‘Brian, we’re not going to cover that procedure or the transfer, but would you consider assisted suicide?’ ” Dr. Callister told The Washington Times.
The phone calls took place last year within the span of a month, Mr. Callister said. He said he did nothing to prompt the suggestion in either case.

Right 6:02. More of the obama and the democrat lies. We can only hope those denied were supporters of the democrat party. Not that their families would give a rat's arse because democrats do not value life unless then can attach one of their agendas like a fake racial motive to it.
The whole idea of obamacare and why it would be so "affordable" was to allow insurance companies to deny medical treatment and kill off people so as to stack the deck so to speak. Many more healthy people as opposed to ones who were sickly were supposed to keep costs down for everyone. It didn't work though because so few people signed on and are still without insurance.
The issue will never be solved by addressing the payment system of health care. The payment system works well, the delivery of health care is where the issue is. Deal with the cost of delivery of service and you will solve the issue.
It's like how the low information got themselves all jazzed up and praised obama for the preexisting condition BS he fed the ignoramuses. All it means is coverage can't be denied. Treatment can be denied though and now is being denied more then ever before.
I have personally witnessed ER doctors attempt to talk patients out of treatments to prolong their lives. I have also seen them talk about not pursing treatments in front of patients like they are not even there or cannot understand the conversation. Shameful!!
I am all for "Assisted Suicide", this needs to be done right away in DC.
All Politicians over 75 need this help!
That's one way to keep health costs down!!
