As Seen On Facebook: BEWARE 20 overdoses in last 24 hours
In the Press release we posted earlier the Delaware State police has confirmed at least 7 overdoses. We have not received any press releases from other local police agencies about this issue.
These comments are cruel and unnecessary. Addicts are a societal problem. Some created by pre pain management Drs allowing addiction by over prescribing. Some created by post pain management Dr's denying medication to chronic actual chronic pain patients. Some from undiagnosed mental illnesses. Addicts and therefore overdose victims are someone's parent, sibling or child. It is an epidemic that needs serious attention. Not ignorant comments that make them feel more worthless. There by the grace of god go I.
Seriously??? With all the drug programs taught in schools I graduated in 2003 if you are that stupid to wake up and say since I have been cut off my meds Im going to go get heroin then you deserve whatever fate you get. Stop with the excuses bc all that does is enable. Tough love is what is needed not poor you baby its the mean Dr's fault.
Cristy Layton, you know what's more cruel than comments? Unleashing these drug addicts that walk amongst us on the street, in the malls, in the grocery stores while endangering everyone's lives around them. They drive tooted up, drunk, or both and you think comments are 'cruel?' Christ, what is your problem, lady? Do you have any clue how much damage drug addicts do to a community? Any clue at all? Seriously doubt it.
If you people want to have affordable healthcare then quit blaming doctors for a person's stupidity. Quit suing doctors for your own child/spouse/sibling or whatever's lack of good judgement. The medical community is not responsible for putting pills in your mouth. I know lots of people who don't even take painkillers unless it's absolutely necessary. Most times Tylenol bought over the counter will do the trick unless it's extreme circumstances. People become addicted for psychological reasons more so than physical ones. The physical pain might be the inciting incident to take the pain med but there's something else in the head that keeps them popping them. Get a shrink but quit trying to bilk the medical community over decisions you make on your own accord.
Another thing Christy if someone is "cut off" by a Dr there is a reason why. They do drug screens and guess what if other "naughty" things show on that screen youre done. So chances are that person was self medicating long before they were cut off. Its just easier and usually cheaper to go thru a Dr bc of insurance.
Please stop hand holding these people as the person before was saying they are ruining what we call our town and cities home.
We all have choices in life. Addiction may qualify has a disease but it starts with a choice. Im addicted to cigerettes it was MY CHOICE to start smoking in the 1st place. If we keep making excuses for poor choices then why would it ever stop.
Joe had an article on here the other day about a rainbow skirt or something. That was her choice to wear that. That teen needs to own up to the consequences of what it may/may not have. If I go out to the store dressed like a whore I cant go home and cry bc guys made comments and woman frowned upon me. Its 2017 times have changed.
Christy youre worried about their feelings being hurt? How about the poor babies who are born addicted bc their moms mean dr stopped prescribing? What about the strangers they steal from to keep their "choice" funded? Tell me this please - If your spouse or child was killed in a car crash bc of someone using and passing out which caused them to cross that yellow line which hit your loved family member head on. Whose side are you on? Are you going to go to their coury hearing and sit in the stand and read your comment for the jury Christy? Please fill me in??!!
I believe these people maken these comments don't have a close outlook on addiction it's. A epidemic it can be ur mom ur sister brother cousin son daughter addiction dose not have a.face u think an addict wakes up an says I wanna be a addict today no they don't most of them have suffered severe trama in their life some have different.issuse once u use heroin for three days ur hooked not thinking u will be then it's a everyday battle for the rest of ur life I think it's pretty sad how alot of people are ignorant to the fact of addiction some people need to educate them self before maken the statements they make just my opinion
As a person who is married to an addict, I'm highly offended by the uneducated people on here making some of these comments. Did my spouse chose to become an addict. Hell no!!! He was put on pain medication after a severe car accident that we were in. Drs kept saying take this for the pain for years on end. Then went though pain management after the crack down on pills started happening. You know what happened then? My spouse who took thier pain meds as prescribed was cut off because the Dr was doing illegal stuff and was shut down. So you say ok we'll just go to a different one because my spouse was doing everything they were suppose to. But no!! No other pain management drs would see my spouse because he had been to the one doing illegal things even though it had nothing to do with him. Ok so the next step was rehab. He missed a week of work and lost his job so that he could get off the crap the drs got him started on. He was supposed to go to after treatment to continue his rehab to get clean only to be told "well we can't treat you because your not court ordered here or on probation" because he did nothing wrong except follow a long list of bad drs orders. He was a functional person with a full time job, not in trouble with the law. Only doing what he was told to do. In the whole process he became an addict, lost his job and was unable to get help because he wasn't in trouble, and in some of your opinions he should die? He should leave me and our kids? My God people!! I truly pray that no one in your family ever has to go though what we have been though. And if you ever do I pray that the people around you have more humanity and love in there hearts than you do because you will need it.

Problem solved. Why warn them?
Now we can see who the closet users are.
The only way this will ever stop is enough users die! They will either 1- All die or 2- wake up

Another pity party thrower. If they are such good people why dont you let them house sit for you or watch one of your children?
When this happens to someone in your family you'll think differently.
These addicts are someone's kids, mothers, father's, aunts, uncles etc. Your opinion would change if it was someone you cared about. Get freaking grip.
Then let these addicts move in with your family since you care so much for them
