Christian university in Texas opens prayer room for Muslim students

A Christian university in Texas has created a prayer room for its Muslim students.

The Methodist-affiliated McMurry University dedicated the space in one of the school’s residential dorms for its Muslim students’ daily prayers.

Before its creation, Muslim students met for prayer in a nearby hotel, a student who helped establish the new prayer room told The College Fix in an interview.

That student, Joe Yousef, is president of McMurry’s Saudi Student Club. Of the roughly 1,000 students attending McMurry, about 60 are Muslim and many come from Saudi Arabia, Yousef said.

Yousef said now that Muslim students have a prayer room on campus, it will be much easier for them to meet both their religious and scholastic obligations.

“On Friday, we get together and sometimes we have to go home to pray and we need to be in university so we don’t have time to go home,” Yousef said.

Yousef admitted that some people at McMurry didn’t like the idea of having the prayer room.

Some students are also supportive.

The room will also serve as a meeting place for a new interfaith club, which is slated to meet for the first time Feb. 21..

Is there also a Catholic prayer room? One for Jews, too? How about a Lutheran prayer room?

Without the others, this room needs to be taken out. They cannot "establish" a religion on campus, only allow its practice.

They DID say it was a CHRISTIAN college, right?
WHY would any muslim attend that school?
Of all the possibilities, they pick a Christian school???
Do they get to debate whether or not muslims go to heaven or if Christ is really the savior of all men???
And if they allowed to study the Koran, do they skip the parts that call for the murder of anyone who isn't a muslim or refuses to convert???

No real Christian would provide a space for people to worship a false god.

bickering about religion (a belief) in the US or that our choice of President didn't happen - doesn't pay the bills, doesn't stop all the thugs in Salisbury, doesn't put food on the table.

stereotyping ad nauseam will continue to be our downfall regardless which party is in office. We are better than everyone else, need to act like it or there won't be anymore TGIFs to look forward too.

My question is, are the mosque going to set up an alter for christians to worship? When are christians going to open their eyes to what is really going on? They may want to read the bible again.
