The owner needs to be arrested for abuse. Look at how skinny he is, hasnt had any work on his hooves either. If you find them, call animal control and the police ASAP!

OMG if you find owner someone need to beat his butt look at that horse its starving

That horse could use a few pounds, no?

Need to help that animal... looks to be malnourished...

I wouldn't start with the rude comments until we know how old the horse is. When they get very old, they get quite thin, no matter how much you try to fatten them up. If it's a young horse, then shame on the owner. I hope the horse finds its way home. :-(

Definitely. Cracked hooves, protruding ribs, dull coat, sway backed. Still, it's a pretty horse.

Looks like it ran away weeks or months ago...

Anonymous said...

Thanks for that comment. I did not know that.

@4:31, glad the horse is home. Don't worry about the other commenters that don't understand about keeping weight on old horses, or dealing with brittle hooves. Horses usually don't live to the age of 35 unless they were well cared for in the first place. God bless its owners.

Amen, 6:09.

Just like grandmom/pop in the nursing home at 98 years old, can't put any meat on their bones. It's called old age not neglect.

Something is definitely wrong. This horse
is WAAAAY underweight. It's the fault of
the owner---they're either not feeding the
horse or he needs medical attention.
Please report these people NOW!!!!

8:57, did you even READ the above comments? You will never find a fat 35 year old horse! Love the way people are quick to judge others!

Yes, the horse is skinny. No, it is no surprise at 35. To the owner, if you haven't tried already, put vegetable oil in his feed. I have had several horses in their thirties, though the current eldest is a mere 28. You can work up to a cup per feeding without issues. And I know it sounds disgusting, especially to non horse people, but so does eating grass!

My friends horse lived to be 32 yrs but
it did NOT look like this poor creature,
believe me!

Any idea what size blanket he wears? I would like to donate a turnout for him if I have one that fits.

Ugh thats not just old,age

I beg to differ if they are fed and weight managed they can live into their 40's and not be skin and bones like this poor horse!! I personally know of a 41 TB and 42yr old QH who don't look anything like this poor horse!

I have had many horses live into their mid to late 30s and look like they were middle aged to the end. It is about proper care nutritionally and medically. This horse is suffering no matter what the age.

I had a horse that lived to be 30. She had a blanket and gave her 2 cans of senior feed in the summer and 4 cans to keep wt on her. This horse may be old but looks like it hasn't had the best care. I do pray some people will educate the owners or a rescue person would offer to take the horse. Dr. Daryl Insley is an excellent vet with Layfield Veternairy Services he maybe able to help. This horse deserves tender loving care . Concerned about the winter weather ahead.

Looks like you should be looking for the number of the SPCA instead of the owner.

Old horse like that probably needs his teeth floated. It's possible he is not physically able to chew up his food
