300 Juveniles Serving Life Sentences To Get Parole Hearings
BALTIMORE (AP) — Maryland officials say nearly 300 inmates serving life sentences for crimes they were convicted of as juveniles will get new parole hearings within the next year.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the state laid out its plan in new filings in a federal court case that claims Maryland’s parole system for juveniles is unconstitutional. Attorneys for the state are urging the court to dismiss the lawsuit.
Sonia Kumar, an attorney for ACLU, dismissed the plan for hearings as an “obvious attempt to offer superficial changes.”

Unless something significantly changed in the specific case - let them rot in jail!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unreal is SPD chief inviting them to the quite town of DaBury for Pizza.?
Obama letting his peeps out to create havoc.
This f-ing liberal afenda is our demise!!! For anyone to be given a life sentence has to be some sort of murder conviction, juvenile or not why would you release them back in society?? They are definitely not able to function within society especially after being incarcerated so young and the "education" they received while there. Way to go Maryland
Judge each on its own merit. Most of these cases are murders, and the murderers knew what they were doing when they did them.
So this is what your Governor Hogan is allowing to happen in Maryland. Let the murderers out of jail.
Anyone, especially a juvenile, who is incarcerated with a life sentence more than likely committed MURDER! Let them rot in Hell. Better yet, put them in front of the firing squad.
With better than 95% of these 300 incarcerated for murder, and about 90% of the victims being black, what does it say about the worth of those victims to release their murderers? It says that those lives didn't matter, and that the murderers' do.
Hey Joe, I am sitting here listening to my fire radio and I hear Station 5 Hebron dispatched to Salisbury for an Ambulance call. Then Salisbury Fire Department is dispatched to the same location for "stand by."
Then Station 3 Fruitland is dispatched for an ambulance call in Salisbury with another fire engine dispatched to "stand by."
Then Station 74 Delmar is dispatched and another fire engine from Salisbury is dispatched to "Stand by" until Delmar gets there.
Sounds to me the inadequate leadership is making sure that all the firefighter positions are a priority and filled first. The priority should be staffing ambulances. Rarely does a fire engine from the county have to take calls in Salisbury. Another priority of the inadequate and poor leadership is buying new fire engines over the purchase of appropriate EMS units. This happens nearly every day in Salisbury and no one seems to bat an eye at it.
Thanks Jake Day, Jim Ireton and Jack Heath!
But, but, it's for the "ked's"
10:42 AM - Is this the only thing you ever have to say on this blog?
