Obama bans Confederate flag at cemeteries

Unilaterally imposes restrictions rejected by Congress

(WASHINGTON TIMES)
The Veterans Affairs Department quietly moved this month to ban flying of Confederate flags from fixed flagpoles at the cemeteries it runs, striking yet another blow against the controversial emblem.

Congress had debated and rejected that change, but the Obama administration decided to move forward anyway, saying it was unilaterally imposing the restrictions.

“In particular, we will amend our policy to make clear that Confederal flags will not be displayed from any permanently fixed flagpole in a national cemetery at any time,” wrote Ronald E. Walters, under secretary for memorial affairs at the VA.

Just ignore history and it will go away? Good or bad it is part of American history and should not be brushed under the rug. If it is not remembered it is bound to be repeated!

The federal government won the war for State's independence.
This is the results of war.
Amazing it took this long to actually ban an emblem from our Nation's history! Crazy times we live in.

Veteran cemeteries should only fly the stars and stripes. Confederate flags are not US flags.

Veterans fought to preserve the United States. Us flags only.

Should it have the military gold fringe?
Or
Is it OK to have the regular "civilian flag" without the fringe?

And we will ban this actor in the coming months, something we should have done many years ago. Get out of our house and go home or to hell.

Not the Confederate Veterans you ignorant moron.

Confederate flags can still be placed on graves, since they aren't "fixed" flagpoles.

When we moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia in the 70's there were Confederate flags up and down the entire Shore as well as South and no one cared. The Stuckeys and all the gift store had Confederate flags flying out front and no one complained. All the vegetable stands had Confederate flags flying everywhere. All the towns were flying Confederate flags and no one was offended.

Every calendar printed had Robert E. Lee's birthday on it. They had Stonewall Jacksons birthday on it. They had Jefferson Davis' birthday on it. They also had the various Confederate Veterans Day on them. Not one person cared or was offended, until the Left Wing liberal Democrats kept moving further and further left. They started indoctrinating our children. No one was offended until the left started brainwashing dumb white people. Now they have won the war because the majority of white people are dumb otherwise this wouldn't have happened.

God Bless the South! These Heroes are turning over in their graves because of the Weak RINO's and Obama Loving Democrats who lied about our Southerners and our Southern History.
