If, in the nation's largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not one 24-ounce soda, because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.
If an 80-year-old woman who is confined to a wheelchair or a three-year-old girl can be strip-searched by the TSA at the airport, but a woman in a burka or a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

If being stripped of your Constitutional right to defend yourself makes you more "safe" according to the government — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

In all honesty, I defaulted on my mortgage in 2008. Lost my house. But I didn't buy extra stuff or take advantage of it. I was embarrassed enough as it was. I rented for 6 years, rebuilt my credit, worked 2 jobs, and now own a house again. So even middle class working people can "default" but sometimes - especially when you are "underwater" by $150,000 - there isn't a whole lot you can do about it when you get an offer to buy your house and the mortgage company wouldn't accept it.

Jeff Foxworthy has hit the nail right on the head,we live in a country run by greedy idiots but I'm not sure it is politically correct to say that. I think I'll go hide in my safe space,he'c triggered an anxiety attack.
Could you share how you rebuilt your credit?? I had an account closed out when I lost a job 6-7 years ago and thought I was doing good by not getting anymore credit and now I can't get credit because I gave no FICO score
