At the hearing in Courthouse East, Nero's attorneys put forward unsuccessful motions to get the case dismissed. Williams also denied motions to exclude video evidence related to Gray's arrest (but agreed to mute the audio).
In the motion on Gray's injuries, the state indicated a desire to call a medical expert to testify on the risk of injury or death posed to Gray by Nero's actions.

The defense has subpoenaed a boatload of prosecutors from the Baltimore SA's office. It appears they all have prosecuted defendants charged w/carrying the exact same type of knife Gray had in his possession. Judge also ruled the legality of the knife will not be argued or even referenced. Officer Nero has opted for a bench trial a good call. Without the state being able to argue the knife was legal some of the charges won't stick.
Good let them riot. Let them crap up their own nests even more. They deserve to wallow around in the muck of their own creation. That's all they are good for. That and making babies they can't afford. When you won't allow yourself to evolve into a civilized human being you deserve to wallow around in crime and poverty. Let them keep on killing each other too. One less thug is always a good thing.

It doesn't matter if he is found guilty or not guilty in the sense that american policing training is wrong from the start. Thankfully a few police chiefs have recognized this fact and have been traveling to places like Scotland ( where their police do not carry firearms ) to learn better and ways safer ways to police.
American police are too aggressive and quickly escalate encounters to a point where deadly force is used. I hope they can initiate some of other countries methods and reduce the number of killings ( and lawsuits ) they have each year.
