If you’re a football fan, it’s likely you watched and loved The Blindside.
The 2009 hit film was about a poverty stricken foster child who took up football and with the help of his adopted parents, worked up to one of the most touted NFL prospects in college football, eventually becoming a first-round pick.
Turns out, the main character is in fact based a real person along with the plot being factual, and that person is Michael Oher, the 29-year-old tackle for the Super Bowl 50 bound Carolina Panthers.
Oher played for the Baltimore Ravens from 2009 to 2013 and the Titans for one year, and now the Panthers. This will be Oher’s second Super Bowl, previously reaching and winning one with Baltimore.

Let's go panthers!!!
Now I'm beginning to see why Baltimore is no longer in contention.
Love the story but do not like the kittens. Broncos will take this one in an upset and I cannot wait!! Oher will have minimum of 3 penalties. Baltimore is not in contention because the over spent on an average QB.
Great movie, great true story. Phenomenal people.
Michael Oher hasn't been w/the Ravens for a few years. His adoptive mother is a role model and a smart businesswoman. During the Raven's superbowl victory parade she had a handful of pens, and would stick one in a players hand and push them over to the crowd to sign autographs. Evidently she was "mother" to a lot of the team. If they had a meet and greet autograph signing and she thought they weren't dressed appropriately she would tell them to go and change even ironing shirts if necessary.
