It turns out a roofing company was working on the roof. They had a commercial Ford truck under the building with a generator and two propane tanks on it. They were on the roof using torches to heat the tar when they suddenly lost power. When they came down to see why the generator quit they noticed it was on fire. The explosion was more then likely the propane tanks going off. They did try to put the fire out but were unsuccessful.

I was there. Incredible job OCVFC! You had to see it to understand how fast they acted to put the fire out, including several individual units. We are so fortunate!
I hope that business has good insurance!
OUCH! As a contractor, my policy wouldn't begin to cover that!

I agree on the compliment to the Fire Dept. We listened by live feed, one of the best coordinated efforts I have ever heard. Total professionals A to Z,congrats!
I doubt there insurance policy will cover the cost to rebuild, I'm a contractor and I know mine wouldn't(5M). Negligence on the employees parts caused this. I would have never run a generator of mine under a building.
