(Somerset County, MD) On Wednesday, November 25, 2015, Troopers from the Maryland State Police and Officers from the Princess Anne Police Department conducted a collaborative effort and performed numerous alcohol compliance checks at retail establishments in Somerset County.
Law enforcement officers throughout Somerset County ensured that various retail establishments which hold a Somerset County Liquor License are denying sales of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 21 years old.
A total of 19 retail establishments were checked. The following retail establishments complied with the provisions of the law and denied the sale of alcoholic beverage to minors:

King’s Creek Market, Princess Anne, Maryland
In an effort to keep our teenagers safe during this upcoming holiday season, Troopers and Officers will continue with unannounced compliance checks to ensure that alcoholic beverages stay out of the hands of minors. Historically, the holiday season sees an increase in alcohol related collisions; many of these collisions involve serious bodily injury. This collaborative effort between law enforcement partners will continue throughout the holiday season.
Support for this program is provided by the Somerset County Local Management Board, Inc.

how on earth does the Somerset County Liquor Dispensary fail? All of these mom and pop shops can pass but not the county dispensary? time to get rid of this antiquated system.
Nice work! Now 4 people will lose their jobs right before Christmas....Makes me warm and fuzzy. You DO realize that most of the underage drinkers around here either have their parents (yes you read that right) or older friends buy it for them.
As far as the "antiquated" dispensary system, did you know that all of their profits after expenses go right back into the county and the towns of Crisfield and Princess Anne....which contributes to their revenue.
Mom and pop have business to protect... county employee not so much.
10:55 Those same revenues would go back to the county through taxes if it were made private, maybe that is hard to understand but it would actually be better for everybody. That system is antiquated and from the prohibition days, just let private enterprise take it over
They should be fired , the county employees especially !!
Our "leaders" just can't hide the fact that whatever they do, it's for the MONEY.
Its NOT for the "safety of the children". Its for the MONEY.
Just like gambling, which they put people in PRISON for, and, according to them, destroys lives and families, it becomes a wonderful thing as long as they get their cut (money).
Now, alcohol is bad bad bad and the Gestapo is out there with "campaigns" of enforcement and fines (of course), but they feel much better about the violence, death, and suffering alcohol creates ---- as long as they get their cut (money).
And they say these things with a straight face.
And you cheer them like they saved your life with their wisdom.
Don't say drugs and vice are bad, but then get into the business yourself.
Keep cheering.
