Trooper repeatedly questioned whether he was having a heart attack...
Michael O’Neil was racing his dad to the hospital for a heart attack when he saw a state trooper in the rearview mirror with his lights flashing.
He thought the trooper was going to escort them to Good Samaritan Hospital in west suburban Downers Grove.
Wrong.
He got a $1,500 speeding ticket. After his dad, William O’Neil, stood behind their Ford Taurus on Interstate 355, he was taken to a different hospital in an ambulance.
The next day, his father underwent surgery and received a stent to fix a blockage in an artery.
William O’Neil, who says the trooper repeatedly questioned whether he was having a heart attack, is furious about how he and his son were treated Sept. 27.

And again, typical. Cop should have escorted them to the hospital and then if the heart attack story proved false, then ticket the bloody hell out of them. He has the license number and all, they certainly won't get away with the speeding. Ultimately you cops need to really get off your power trip, ego high, and serve and protect and not be concerned about your quota and the revenue.
File A Complaint @ the barracks this trooper is assigned to....They take citizen complaints seriously...
If your DAD had further medical issues because of the troopers Arrogance...
File a suit against the State, the Trooper and the State Police..
(Always err on the side of caution)...The trooper should have activated his lights and drove you there, and than did the million questions to the Doctor about your Dad's condition.
Why stop? I wouldn't. I've been in a similar situation, driving my Pops to the hospital. You want to ticket me, I'll see ya at the emergency room, pal.
1000 percent incorrect. Police can not do that. Call ems and begin first responder technigues. Cop is covered. If he gives escort he then is liable for the person driving the father and anyone they may hit driving to fast. Sick person car is not emergency vehicle driver is not certified and emotionally stressed. No doubt the cop would be indicted if he " turned his lights on and followed" not sure what you did but it wasn't law enforcement.
This was a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Too much liability for the cops to escort you. Too long of a wait (possibly) for an ambulance. On the other hand 10:04 is partially right. You can call the 911 dispatcher and let them know why you are not stopping and, in theory, they will follow you to the emergency room. You'll still get the ticket, though.I would think if you dispute the ticket the judge would have the good sense to throw it out.
Meanwhile.... in downtown salisbury.... a heroin deal is being made....
123?? This happened in Chicago.... Read much!?
This is what happens when you give a college graduate a gun and badge with ZERO street smarts.
Troopers = Revenue security officers.
And scam artists in the middle of the road begging for $$$

I doubt seriously you are a retired cop. It is not the troopers job to escort anyone to the hospital or for them to play paramedic or God.
