More than 240 undocumented immigrants from 21 countries were arrested by federal officials during a four-day sweep by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Los Angeles area.
Officials announced Monday that the sweep ended Thursday with the arrest of 244 people — with the majority having at least one criminal conviction to their name.
ICE officials said 56 percent had criminal records that included felony convictions such as child sex crimes, weapons charges and drug violations. The rest had “significant or multiple misdemeanors.”
“This operation exemplifies ICE’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing convicted criminals and public safety threats for apprehension and removal,” said David Jennings, field office director for Enforcement and Removal Operations in a press release. “By taking these individuals off our streets and removing them from the country, we are making our communities safer for everyone.”

244 lol thats one apt.
Forgive my comparison to 'catch and release' fishing. If we physically fly them to their native country as a means of deportation it is just a speed bump to their illegal return at a time and place of their choosing.
If they are held, tried, imprisoned and then deported upon finishing their sentence we at least know of their whereabouts until the deportation however many years down the road.
There appears to be a very high percentage of these illegal aliens willing and able to return after being deported. Physically stopping all illegal entrances to our border is the only way to gain control.
Other parts of the debate are just 'shop talk' until we actually have physical control of all the crossing points.
Legal immigration, under rules and guidelines adopted by Congress, is desirable and fine; illegal aliens are not acceptable.
Just another government HOAX,Wake up americans.
Of course they keep coming back. Why stay home and work to feed yourself, when there's a free buffet for the taking? Just hop the border and help yourself!
Without jobs, food, money or housing, they are better off back home where they belong, and it's long past time for a comprehensive "There's No Place Like Home" program.
No welfare benefits of ANY kind for non-citizens. No food stamps, no free medical clinics (except for birth control). Severe fines for anyone hiring them, including loss of business or professional licensing. Liens on house equal to deportation and processing costs for anyone renting to them. Loss of green cards or resident alien status for everyone in the home, if they harbor an illegal. Prompt deportation for all family members and permanent revocation of temporary residency, if he returns again after being deported. All "bi-lingual" classes replaced with "English for speakers of other languages". Fence-jumpers barred permanently from even applying for residency here. Convicted felons and those with more than two misdemeanors not eligible for parole, probation or sentence reduction, immediate deportation upon release. No refund of any taxes withheld. Deportation immediately upon release from any arrest. Mandatory death penalty, carried out within 15 days, for any sex crime conviction, especially against children. No driver's license for illegals. No registration or title of car unless a legal resident. No voting, no running for office or sitting on public councils or commissions. No lawsuits filed by illegal aliens. No insurance claims paid to illegals.
Common sense. They want our freedoms? Fine. Earn them, if you truly value them.
