Mark S. Bowen swears in Don Fitzgerald

Wicomico County Public Schools
Wicomico Clerk of the Court Mark S. Bowen swears in Don Fitzgerald for a second term on the Wicomico County Board of Education today, as Board President Ron Willey looks on. Fitzgerald's first term officially ended June 30, 2014, but he continued to serve on the Board -- and serve as its vice president -- while awaiting word on his reappointment during and after the election year. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan recently appointed Fitzgerald to a second five-year term, dating from July 1, 2014. Two more Board members appointed by the Governor are expected to be sworn in this month.

We still need to vote these folks in or out. Appointments are done behind closed doors...

Don is one of the most fair and committed people out there. Good man, good choice.

Needs to be voted on. That only makes it fair. If he is a good man he will win the election.

He has the courage of his convictions. He, along with Dr. Elmore, voted in an open meeting not to renew the current superintendent's contract. He stands up for students, parents and employees. We should be thankful he'll give his time and energy on our behalf.

I would add to 9:06's remark that Mr. Dodd abstained, thus not voting to renew either.
