This homeowner was smart enough to grab her firearm when she got a call that there was an escaped parolee. The escaped parolee was not lucky that he picked her fence to jump over.
Redding resident Jennifer Doolittle received the call, retrieved her handgun, and stepped outside to get her dogs and bring them in the house. As she did this, Carmelo climbed over her fence and allegedly “advanced on her and again acted as if he was reaching for a handgun.”
So Doolittle fired a number of rounds, striking Carmelo and stopping the advance.
Carmelo is back in police custody. Score one for good guys (or girls) with guns!

Good for her! In Maryland she would have been Arrested and her firearm confiscated.
In this Neo-Nazi state, she would have been beaten and jailed (maybe SHOT by the police when they showed up!) and ALL of her guns confiscated (and sold to other cops at a huge discount, as in $5 for the .30-.30) and lose everything she had hiring a lawyer.
The police would have protected her if they only had been given more notice. BUT, they did get there in time to write a report.
Which will, undoubtedly go down as another "gun violence crime".
To further justify the illegal restrictions placed on citizens by people who couldn't hit the living room wall with a gun of any kind.
The official police line is "we would rather you get raped and killed by a felon than be able to protect yourself".
Their OTHER official line is "Constitution?? WE tell you what the rules are and you can forget whatever that thing says....and, by the way, what is a Constitution?".
We'll be teaching that to you soon, trust me.
