The Republican Hogan appeared back-to-back with legislative leaders from both parties at a Maryland Economic Development Association conference, delivering a speech wound tightly around business issues. Hogan said it is time to revamp the job training programs strewn around different departments in Maryland's government.
"Across our administration, successful programs will be expanded, faltering ones will be scrutinized, duplicative programs will be eliminated," Hogan said. "One area that clearly needs refining are the countless job-training programs that are scattered throughout state government."

How about removing the reasons our businesses are leaving? I know this is your first day, but give us hope!
I hope maryland and salisbury does something quick. With the mayor selling us out with the rain tax I am looking to relocate my company . That was the last straw. Our average pay ranges from 45-85k plus benefits. We only have 30 people so we are no where as big as labinal however our average employee makes more. I have a meeting lined up with the governor of de. They are trying to welcome us with open arms. Sorry salisbury all you care about is downtown and more low wage bars.
I wish more manufacturing would come to Wicomico and Somerset so that there were more job choices. Used to be plenty here but government and unions made them all disappear.

The ONLY people these programs benefit is giving MORE Government employees new busy work. What happens is that people who may never have written a resume telling the unfortunate ones how to write a resume. We have all been there and this help is of no use to us that are out of a job.
Walk in our shoes or resign and learn how to do that.

When are they going to realize and do something about the taxes and fees that are strangling the economy of the nation and this state???? I am living within my means, governments should also. I guess it would be foolish to say that government should be more efficient, and give us a dollar's worth of value for every dollar we are taxed. Industry has declined in America or left the country. Just ride the Amtrac north from Baltimore and look at the industrial blight along the tracks. We could build several major ships with the iron rusting there. There are empty buildings, vehicles, scrap, etc.
Too late people , MD is gone , it is now an Obama state. The Pide Piper has won , admit it.
We have lost so many big employers over the years in Salisbury. No one is looking at Salisbury to move a manufacturing business to for good reason. With DE being so close I'm surprised we have what we do left.
