Report: Shipping Carriers Got 98% Of Express Packages Under Christmas Trees On Time
Shipping carriers and retailers alike worked very hard to make sure that this Christmas wasn’t a repeat of the shipping-delay disaster that was Christmas 2013. While the lack of blizzards was helpful, their investments paid off: early reports show that most packages reached their destinations on time.
This story needs to be told: Christmas Eve (this year) - at 4:10PM - an EXTREMELY important Christmas gift was to be delivered to my house via FedEx that day. Since it had not arrived yet, and thinking there may be something wrong, I called FedEx. On what had to be this company's busiest day of the year, the wait-time for my call was less than ONE MINUTE. I did not have a tracking number, no sender's name - just my address. The agent took the info and said that there was an error with the address... it was one digit off. Within two minutes - TWO MINUTES! - he corrected it, contacted the driver, and the package was delivered. HUGE props to FedEx!
