Report: Pilot In Ocean City 2013 Crash Lacked Aerobatic Training

Federal investigators say the pilot in last year's fatal plane crash in Ocean City may not have been adequately trained in the aerobatic moves he was performing.

Off-duty police officers Thomas Geohegan and Joshua Adickes were killed in the crash on June 30, 2013. Geohegan was the pilot and owner of the airplane.

The National Transportation Safety Board determined that the crash was caused by Geohegan losing situational awareness during a spin and misjudging his altitude.

yes perhaps we can now stop calling these two guys heroes.

To the person who was quick to say these two should not be called heros, Do you put your life on the line daily like these two officers did? Did you educate yourself on Officer Geohegan and his accomplishments? Hthet were both heros! Shame on you for passing judgment on someone you did no research on! From a Ocean City Resident who appreciated both of these heros!

I found the DT front page coverage with the "clever" headline about beyond his limits to be insensitive and in the poorest taste. If this is the ugliness shown for the dead, maybe they can start showing ackbone and take the same hard line with some of the living.

Your comment speaks volumes as to your low class upbringing. Your parents failed you miserably.

my upbringing is fine, so fine in fact I have never thought of climbing into an airplane and performing acrobatics that I was not qualified to perform, over a crowded beach thus putting scores of innocent people in danger. These two, like too many others, broke the law they were sworn to uphold. NOT HEROES.
