JUST IN: Md. Doctor With Ebola Has Died In Neb. Treatment Center

OMAHA, Neb. (WJZ/AP)—The Maryland doctor who contracted Ebola while treating patients in Sierra Leone has died of the disease at a Nebraska treatment facility.

Nebraska Medical Center said in a news release that Dr. Martin Salia died as a result of the disease. Hospital spokesman Taylor Wilson said Salia died shortly after 4 a.m. Monday.

Salia, who was diagnosed with Ebola last Monday, arrived in Omaha on Saturday to be treated at the Nebraska Medical Center’s biocontainment unit that has successfully treated two other Ebola patients this fall.

I never heard about anyone else being treated in Nebraska. The media only told us about those nurses who went to Maryland & Georgia hospitals to recover. I guess Ebola is old news now.

This man was brought home to die. That is the long and short of it.

Not "interesting" at all 12:29. At the first sign of anything ordinary going on within the body, the ones who were successfully treated, sought treatment. There is a point where treatment won't work and it comes quickly.
The first SOB that died lied about even being in Africa much less told hospital at first about carrying an Ebola patient. It's his own fault that he died for not being honest. Finally when he was real sick he decided to come clean but it was too late.
Actually what is "interesting" was this man's lack of anything resembling honesty and decency. Anyone that has had contact with someone with a contagious, deadly disease, starts showing symptoms and lies is a no good piece of trash who quite frankly doesn't deserve treatment.

12:43-It was either one of the 2 original patients who was treated in Nebraska and/or the photographer. I remember at least one person being treated there, maybe 2, but not exactly who it was.

12:29 - Why are you ignoring the fact that the second Dallas nurse with Ebola was black and she survived?

Ebola will not discriminate. Don't make this about race.

May he rest in peace. He and his family are in my prayers

The doctor who just died from all accounts I have seen so far, was a kind, dedicated doctor. It sounds like his symptoms had progressed too far for treatment. This man didn't lie about his contract.

What happened here was a case of the disease progressing to the point of no return. While still in Africa this surgeon was tested for Ebola but test came back negative though he was showing symptoms. 2nd testing, several days later came back positive but by that time it appears as though he was in multiple organ failure.
