ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland appeals court has reinstated a legal complaint seeking details about the internal investigation of a state trooper who used a racial slur in a voicemail message to a Somerset County woman.
The Maryland Court of Special Appeals, the state's intermediate appellate court, issued the ruling this week.
The case involves a 2009 voicemail message state police Sgt. John Maiello left on Teleta Dashiell's voicemail. He can be heard using the N-word in conversation with another trooper, apparently after he believed he had hung up.

BIG deal.. Just another vindictive person.
We should know what the investigation revealed. By keeping it a secret only convinces me that proper action was not taken. Transparency is always the best route to take. Secrecy raises doubt
and that is what it is all about.
Big deal. I once had a 5 year old black girl tell me her gandma told her not to talk to white people. I thought it was funny. Imagine if we recorded a conversation at that dinner table.
This is all about money. Ask any local officer and he will tell you what happened to the Trooper. He took quiet a hit.
There was a state trooper named Leona fisher. She was a barrack commander down by Eci. She was caught in several instances for the same thing but to another disgusting level. State kicked out millions. Nobody ever heard about this. And for those who are wondering Leona is sgt. Martin fishers wife. And I can assure you that those beliefs are held by both Lee and Marty. Ask president fisher about this incident. Let's see if he tells the truth.
