Maryland Casinos See Region's Biggest Revenue Gains

WASHINGTON (AP) - Maryland was the only state in the Mid-Atlantic region that saw casino revenues increase significantly between 2012 and 2013, and the trend has continued into 2014.

That's according to annual revenue figures compiled by the Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.

Casino revenue in Maryland increased by 32 percent in Maryland in fiscal 2013. Casino revenues decreased in Delaware, West Virginia and New Jersey, and revenues in Pennsylvania were flat.

we are taxed to death in MD and gambling is a form of hope and change that Obama did not deliver on.

As the economy grows worse people try anything to make a buck. So sad , half the money some make is just thrown away because of our famous leader. The worse president in the history of our nation.

Good news for Baltimore.. Since they get 90% of the take from the whole state.

when the poop hits the fan around 9/2015, gambling revenues will plummet and Maryland will be hurting majorly. Maryland has already driven out many citizens and businesses because of exorbitant taxes and regulations.

I don't think MDs taxes are going to go down as long as the politicions(sp?)think we have enough money to throw away in casinos!

Just Omalley/Brown BS, don't let it have any rope. These numbers will be corrected in 3 weeks. You know, the day after the elections!

Don't bite on this bait; there's a big hook in it!

of course there was an increase - going from 0 to 1 is an increase - just like cutting the RATE of tax increases is "cutting taxes"
