Did You See This Today On Route 50 And Wonder What Was Going On?

The Dispatch
Did you see this today on Route 50 and wonder what was going on? Here's the answer ...
Chesapeake Utilities and Sandpiper Energy spokesman Jim Moore explained to News Editor Shawn Soper the burning torches were part of the ongoing conversion effort to convert the existing propane gas lines around the northern end of the county to natural gas. Moore explained the gas lines along that section of Route 50 were shut off and the torches were burning off the remainder of the propane still in the lines.
“It moving along pretty well,” he said. “We got Berlin done and now we’re moving into the West Ocean City area. It will be done in phases and this area where the flames could be seen on Wednesday is part of the next phase.”

I saw that! So, why were they powered by propane bottles? Anyway, it did look bad burning energy for no visible benefit in the midst of all the conservative candidates' signs.

Thanks for the explanation to all, so people don't think it was an attention getter for them.

This will not be explained by our local MSM...

I thought I was in Louisiana back when natural gas was worthless.
