DENTON — The first week of August once again welcomes the beginning of the Caroline-Dorchester County Fair Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Caroline 4-H Park on Detour Road off state Route 16 east of Denton.
The fair hours begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, and it runs through Saturday, Aug. 9. The fair gives 4-H’ers a comprehensive competition to showcase their agricultural displays, livestock and pet projects, as well as their baking, canning, culinary and sewing skills. The 4-H fair also provides a means of educating the public of the importance of farming to the nation and the hard work and talents that go into it.
The fair also features rides and games for children of all ages.
Hours for the fair are 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6; 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7; 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8; and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9.

Love this time of year, with all of the fairs. We get to see what's out there in the livestock world. May even buy a few animals to help genetics. The kids who show are fantastic, as well as the animals.
