What Kind Of Man Are You?

Add to holding doors when entering and exiting buildings, saying please and thank you, and addressing older people with respect...Parents of this current grade and high school kids have failed miserably!! Just stand in line at any store and listen to the filthy mouths and its normal everyday speech. OR read replies to any blog issue. SAD
A few years ago I held a door open for a woman entering a store. She said "I am certainly able to open that door by myself". However, I still do it today.

I know exactly what you mean. I've always done this, but nowadays people rarely give thanks, if they even acknowledge it at all
I'm a woman. If a man holds a door for me, I smile and say thank you. Same if it's a woman doing it. If I get there first, I hold it for him. Or her, if it's a woman. For little children, of course, too. If a child holds it for me, I make it a special thank you!
The ones I have a problem with are the ones who knock into me to get to the door to hold it for me. That's good intentions gone awry. I still say thank you, but one time my shoulder wasn't happy.

Good manners and showing consideration are still good manners and showing consideration!
Women don't like that anymore.
Yes, most do. Some are shocked, though.
My husband opens the car door for me every time. And I love it!!
Since when don't women like that anymore?
So does mine 1:30 unless I wave him off.

Especially when they don't say thanks, I give a LOUD "You're Welcome!" before letting go of the door.
It's the only polite thing to do.
Does she reach over and unlock your door after you let her in? What kind of woman do you have?

Just common sense and good manners, period.
