Newark-Troopers have arrested and charged a New Castle man after committing a bank robbery at the Citizen’s Bank in Newark earlier this afternoon.
The incident occurred on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at approximately 3:30 p.m. as a male suspect later identified as Stephen D. Dunfee-38 of New Castle, Delaware, entered the Citizen’s Bank located at 40 Chestnut Hill Plaza, Newark. Once inside Dunfee approached the 32 year old female teller and presented a demand note for money. The teller complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. As he attempted to leave, bank personnel activated a security device known as a “Mantrap”, which remotely secures the interior and exterior doors of the bank, trapping him in the vestibule. Dunfee attempted to escape the “Mantrap” but was unsuccessful in his attempts to break out, causing damage to the doors and glass. He was taken into custody without incident by arriving Troopers. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
Dunfee was charged with Robbery Second Degree and Criminal Mischief. He was awaiting arraignment at the time of release. (2004 booking photo attached)
No surveillance photos or video available at the time of release.

The look on his face is from a 2004 booking photo. Therefore, he's had more than 1 opportunity for a darwin award.

I wonder what he is looking like after that rear exit has been tampered with by Bubba.
Is the 2004 booking photo a typo?
