The NYPD's use of chokeholds, like the one that recently killed Eric Garner, is increasing.
According to the New YorkDaily News, numbers from the Civilian Complaint Review Board reveal that more than 1,000 New York City residents claimed to be victims of NYPD chokeholds in the past five years. The numbers were unveiled as the Board prepares to conduct a study of the allegations.
The Daily News wrote:
As of July 1, the CCRB had received 58 chokehold complaints against the NYPD this year, but had only substantiated one of them.
Out of the 1,022 chokehold allegations reported between 2009 and 2013, only 462 of the complaints were investigated. Out of that number, just nine were substantiated, according to the CCRB.
There wasn’t enough evidence to prove a chokehold was used in 206 of the cases investigated, officials said.
TheNew York Times reported that chokehold allegations in the city have increased from a decade ago, despite the fact that NYPD banned the use of the chokehold 20 years ago.

You must be killed by the choke hold and further, it must be on film. And THEN, you have to deal with "you don't know the whole story" line from the Gestapo.

But, when you wear a "I can do anything I want" badge, the law isn't for YOU, its only for the serfs, who are certainly NOT a special class of citizens, unlike some others (and you know what I'm sayin')....
My guess is they were resisting arrest and assaulting the police officers to end up in a choke hold.
I guess these pu$$y soft hearted liberal Democrats want the cops to be murdered.
TOO bad. Criminals deserve everything they get but then again people who complain about this are cowards and human garbage. Big bad coward criminals crying because they got caught!!!!!

Pay no attention to the fact that the story was about the police using a tactic they've been TOLD NOT TO USE for over twenty years(!).
But, in typical cop fashion, they do whatever they want. So much for the enforcers of the law actually FOLLOWING and OBEYING the law.
As far as "criminals", no one is a criminal until they are convicted. That's the law, too.
But don't let any of that get in the way of defending what can't be defended.
