Md. Approves $1M Grant For Hagerstown Manufacturer

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The state of Maryland has announced approval of a $1 million grant for a Hagerstown manufacturer.

Gov. Martin O'Malley and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development announced the conditional grant for National Golden Tissue. The company manufactures paper towels, bath and facial tissues and napkins.

The grant has been awarded to help facilitate the company's expansion. The company has acquired the former Boat USA building in Hagerstown. It plans to upgrade the facility and more than double its workforce by adding 100 new jobs.

can you list where these jobs were lost and also what businesses opened or hired. you had an article recently of job reports by the federal government tend to be misleading. would this hold true for wicomico, the reporting of job losses in wicomico county over the past few year seems more than actually number of jobs in the county. is this report showing only job losses and not hirings during any given minth
