The longest war in American history effectively ended in a hurry in the past week.
On May 27, President Barack Obama laid out a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan, where the U.S. is wrapping up its 12-year military presence. Just four days later, the U.S. reached an agreement with the Taliban that freed the only American prisoner of war from the conflict. And Tuesday, the U.S. relinquished control over Manas Air Base in Kyrgyzstan, an installation crucial to maintaining supply lines to the American mission in Afghanistan.
The past week demonstrates the depth of the Obama administration's commitment to its withdrawal strategy. The administration has swiftly moved toward settling some of the thorniest aspects of the U.S.' over decade-long presence in Afghanistan.

I'm hoping that they had those supply lines covered for withdrawal before they let go of the airfield. Make sure your human assets are good to go, whether it be forward or back to where they belong --- home.
That being said to satisfy my politically sensitive wife, liberal daughter and Marine Corps son, thanks bunches from the Military-Industrial Complex for what you did to keep us in Afghanistan for as long as you have. The march across Southwest Asia has been really worthwhile from our perspective. Not as good as Viet Nam (merci again, France!), not nearly as good as North Korea (we still have high hopes for sales activity there, so keep up the good work), but just as good as everything in between. Not bad, considering the "recession". (Little people - aren't they annoying?)
The major stockholders (Bob, Andrew, the Six Johns, the Three Edgars and Kippy say hello and hope you can make it to the thing next month in Bali) want to know what's next on your war agenda. Buy, hold or sell? Give us a clue. You have my number and Facebook DoublePrime address.
Just remember that you The Dude, O'man! What's good for you is what's good for the World! (Especially our little part of it, eh?)
Say hi to Michy and the girls for me. See you soon!
Phhhew! So happy it's over!
FIRST and foremost, it is not, and never has been, a "war". Secondly, we won't be "out of there" for a LONG time.
BUT, 9:19 not only hit the nail on the head, he drove it straight through the board.
those wealthy warmongers have the blood of THOUSANDS on their hands. The one thing they DON'T have? Any children who have had their legs blown off, their arms shot off, their eyes blown out, or any wounds at all. No caskets in Arlington for THEIR kids.
Keep cheering.
Make sure your boy registers for the "Selective Service", too. Its not called "selective" for nothing.
