Sears in Seaford to close; 30 losing jobs

A Sears store in Seaford will close this summer, joining a shutdown of a Kmart in Dover that is part of a national transformation of their parent company.

There will be 30 jobs eliminated when the Sears at 22954 Sussex Highway (U.S. 13) shuts its doors in July, a company spokesman said Monday.

And 72 jobs will be lost when the Kmart on U.S. 13 in Dover closes the same month, as the company reported earlier this month.

Most of the jobs were part-time, hourly positions.

I am really sorry to hear this! I have been buying all my big ticket items in Seaford to avoid the MD sales tax. I guess I'll have to now go to Dover. I know a lot of my friend in Seaford will be sorry to see them go!

The Dover Kmart has been limping along for two decades.

3:16 Obamacare

Now what? Kmart is going downhill. Obamacare probably has nothing to do with it.

lol, sears, the same company that has been struggling for a decade, in a town that has been struggling since forever, yet it's obamacare? Lets not even mention Kmart, who already went through one serious round of dealing with insolvency before any of you even heard of an Obama LOL
