Teachers, School Boards Seek To Drop Standardized Tests This Year

Dozens of parents told legislators Wednesday that the entire Common Core curriculum ought to be scrapped.

But even those who support the new education standards, such as school boards and the state teachers union, said the standardized tests scheduled this spring should be dropped since they’re not based on the new curriculum.

The Maryland State Department of Education continues to resist dropping the Maryland School Assessment. MSDE officials say dropping the test will save little money and potentially jeopardize $289 million in federal funds.

It's time the states stand up to Obama and tell him to shove the 289 million up his butt. The state should not bow down to this Muslim Communist.

They have turned Delmar elementary into a prison to keep parents out and fill our children with not even the most basic of education. Simple test parents, sit down and do math homework with your child and you will see they are poorly equipped math that they will encounter later in life. Simple test stand out in the cold and wait for them to let you in. Sometimes for extended periods of time cause we all know a glass door will keep evil out of the school and try not to get a ticket while waiting for your child. Stop the fed funding make it our school again.

The testing companies are a huge lobby stateside.

They are not suggesting to drop testing. They are merely trying to save their a&&es, bc they will be evaluated on the MSA while teaching that Common crap.
That is all.

Sit in a class room with your grandchild. Don`t tell me parents want their child taught this bull s--t. Kids can`t tell time, write their name or count change.

What the hell did you do with YOUR kids BEFORE they ever went to 1st grade!

The Teachers always lobby for more money and their pensions first, then they cry "its for the children" when the ends justify the means. The majority of nothing more than drop outs from real work.
