The Republican-backed bill approved by both the House and Senate on Tuesday allows concealed-carry permit holders to take firearms into bars and restaurants and other places where alcohol is served as long as the owner doesn’t expressly forbid it.
The measure will also allow concealed-carry permit holders to store weapons in locked cars on the campus of any public school or university. Guns will also now be allowed on greenways, playgrounds and other public recreation areas.
The final bill dropped a controversial provision that would have repealed the long-standing law requiring a background check and permit issued by county sheriffs for handgun purchases.
The measure now heads to Republican Gov. Pat McCrory’s desk.

concealed carry? a foreign concept in marylandistan
Sounds good to me. Bet it will also save lives.
In addition to insuring true 2nd Amendment rights to the citizens of NC their legislative actions have also served to increase property values, across the state, of those same citizens. Yet another foreign concept in MD, 2:12PM
What is happening here is like Chicago did last week. There are not enough police to protect you from thug violence. I spent some time in South Hill, and South Boston Va. last year and there is almost no crime there. People carry and nobody bothers them included the police. Maryland can pass all the gun restricting laws they want, but one thing is for sure, dead is dead. Protect yourself, the hell with the liberal Democrats.
yeah this wont lead to pretentious drunks shooting each other because they think they have the right to.
great news for N.C.
they have a clue...
Blow-back to the communists in the federal government and certain states trying to rescind the 2nd amendment.
Here's to hoping opportunities come through so I can finally move back to NC. Regrettably the worst decision I ever made moving to Maryland.
MD could learn a few things from NC.
That'll never happen, because we need the murder to build onto the drug and prostitution enterprise in our jail system.
