Governor, Mayor Announce Millions To Support Youth Summer Jobs

Governor Martin O'Malley and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced funding that would support summer jobs for more than 5,000 Baltimore youth Wednesday.

Both visited the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) to announce a combined $2.8 million in investments to create over 2,300 summer jobs for local youth through Baltimore City’s YouthWorks program.

Twenty YouthWorks participants currently employed by MICA this summer were present during their announcement, officials say.

If you want a job you must look outside Maryland. We have become a libtard state so we hate work.

How about taxpayers money for jobs in Salisbury, Cambridge, Easton, Pocomoke, Centerville, ETC. And, is this money just for black kids? We must get these liberal Democrats out of office in 2014.

Creating government jobs for kids? Sounds like something that was done in the former USSR. How about letting the kids go out and actually have to apply for a job in the private sector?

if you're going to continue to waste our tax money, why don't you spread it around to others besides Baltimore City? I'd rather you didn't use/waste any of it. I'd rather these kids get off their butts like we did when we were kids and FIND work. It's there, you just have to be willing to do whatever it takes. No pride left in this country.

If we didnt have so much money going to prisons,we would have more money for jobs.Someone needs to come up with a cheaper way to incarcerate people like send them to a island.

Wouldn't it be smarter and much more efficient if we just gave all those kids $10,000? We would be able to eliminate all the OTHER jobs that are attached to this "save the ghetto kids" (don't laugh) jobs program?

LOL-and he's a huge fan of obamacare another job killer. He's such an ignoramus. He's another one that needs to be down on his knees nightly thanking God that his voters and supporters are so dumbed down and haven't the ability to think.

There are a lot of jobs in Baltimore compared to other parts of Maryland.

I missing what the benefit is to this. You need a job and so the government creates one for you. This isn't the real world. In the real world you need to go out stomping and selling yourself to make money in order to be a successful person later on in life.
Figures this all comes from omalley who hasn't done a thing productive his whole entire life. His expertise lies in being a sponge off the government. That's all he knows how to do-suck off of tax payers and spend other people's money.
