The Supreme Court ruled Monday that states cannot require would-be voters to prove they are U.S. citizens before using a federal registration system designed to make signing up easier.
The justices voted 7-2 to throw out Arizona’s voter-approved requirement that prospective voters document their U.S. citizenship in order to use a registration form produced under the federal “Motor Voter” voter registration law.
Federal law “precludes Arizona from requiring a federal form applicant to submit information beyond that required by the form itself,” Justice Antonia Scalia wrote for the court’s majority.

I have voted all my voting years. I can tell you now that I will not vote anymore till there is system in place that shows you have a right to do so. map
beck believes the prez and his partners in crime have something on the justices now. he was originally speaking about Roberts because of the "O"care vote, but I believe now they have something on all of them as to Control. get it?
hahahaha, it's called the constitution idiots.
Well if beck believes it, then it's a fact.
3:09 Excuses so you don't have to look at why your thought processes are wrong. 7 to 2 with Scalia writing the argument, doesn't get much clearer.
This voting system is precisely why we have the crap in Washington, DC that we have right now.
Read the analysis of this vote by JChristian Adams--a lawyer that blew the whistle on Holder and the black panthers. In reality this was a defeat to liberals, it is extremely complicated to grasp but it is actually a good thing. Has to do with states being able to use their own restrictive paperwork to "double check" the federal applications-- Scalia is a wily brilliant Constitutional crusader.
this was for voter registration, NOT the act of voting...
