"America, The Dependent"

Perhaps instead of "America, The Brave", a more appropriate description of what the USA has become would be (judging by the following chart) "America, The Dependent".

My mother had serious surgery that impacted her ability to work for a few months but did not permanently disable her. Yet her company and their insurance policy, which she has paid into for years, forced her onto gov. disability. It took her getting a lawyer and fighting it out just to stay in the workforce. Would love to know how many other workers, especially pre-retirement age older workers (50-60 yr. old) have run into the same problem.
