Obama Wants 1% Pay Raise
It looks as if President Barack Obama will propose a 1 percent pay raise for federal wokers in his fiscal 2014 budget plan. It comes after more than two years of a pay freeze followed by a 0.5 percent raise that is supposed to begin in March. Federal unions said it's better than nothing but not good enough. The American Federation of Government Employees said a 1 percent raise does not tell feds that the White House values their work.

If a 1.5% pay raise were given to the public sector, then we would know that the Gov. appreciates our hard work and donation to their Tax coffers.
From what I've seen, most don't deserve the 1%.....
I didn't get a raise for the last three years and don't expect one this year either - and I'm not a government worker....

"Support your troop", "Military Heroes" If you want to support your troop how about a starting salary higher than 18K per year? It is embarrassing how much we pay our troops.
Alex, did they know the pay scale and the job discription when the enlisted? if not, they didn't do their homework very well.
For What doing nothing should take the one percent away.

I don't recall seeing military lumped in with Federal Workers. Even DOD separates the military - they have their own pay-scale and their pay is appropriated separately.
The military is not paid remotely enough considering what they do to protect us from the evils that would do us harm...while allowing us the freedoms too many take for granted.

so my pay check takes a hit this year from the cliff and this guy wants to give all federal employees a 1% raise. Unreal
He's got the numbers going the wrong way! ALL gov't salaries should be going DOWN, not up.
My ss went up 1% and it was swallowed by the increase in medicare, now less than it was before the increase.
