What would anyone expect from Alex... Alex applauds Government intimidation and strong arming. Alex is a very dependent character. Lets all coddle him here from now on so his feelings do not get hurt.
And keep in mind in Maryland one MUST have insurance, so to me any compnay wanting to operate in Maryland should have to cover them all. Also, they review your credit. Bad credit.....rates rise. How in the world are young adults (with no credit) or someone who happens to fall behind in payments going to get ahead when you HAVE to have Auto insurance in Maryland and now your rates go up. No wonder we are in the economic state we are in.
GEICO is a private company and can set their own underwrtiting guidelines. They don't want to take on the risk and it's perfectly appropriate. The market for insurance is hardening and GEICO can affort to let certain risk go.
Why did they insure him in the 1st place, if that WAS their policy. Or...did it just change this week? It'd be enlightening to see the weapons industry's track record.
Next they will cancel Insurance for any employee or insured person that owns a gun. Then Geico will be out of business and we won't have to put up with that stupid little green lizard anymore.
This ignorance like this from GEICO is why I fired them. HaHa I even saved 150.00 doing it. Oh yea, they have nothing to do with government employees. My employment as a LEO involves the transport of weapons would I be next if I were still with them?
Funny, I got a credit from my insurance company for having a gun and being able to better protect my interests, significantly lowering their risk and my premium!
They wouldn't give me home owner's insurance because I have two Rottweilers. It wasn't a problem as I just went out and found a company that does not share their fears. I think my home is much safer with the two Rottweilers than it ever was with Geigo anyway. I dropped them with my auto insurance because every six months if I didn't send them back three pages stating that I wanted to keep the "same exact limits" on my POP and comprehensive, etc... they would change the limits and charge me more. My arguement was why don't you leave them the same until I notify you that I want them changed and then you can change the rates. They don't play that way. Fine, I won't play with you. I'll find a company that keeps my limits set the way I set them until I decide to change them. Keep your little green lizard. He just annoys me anyway.

Good for GEICO. About time.
Seems reasonable.
Most insurance companies have industries they would rather not deal with or be exposed to what they consider to be excessive risk.
Well they don't do pesticides either.
Government Employee's Insurance Corp.

Alex just says this stuff to get you people stirred up! He's not really that stupid!
HOPE AND CHANGE BABY all the way...
With his change you will need hope...
An interesting business practice from a company that made its name on the backs of "government employees", namely the military.
What do you expect, Geico is a Warren Buffett owned company. He's not going to take on added risk when he doesn't have to.

I just sent an email to Rep. Andy Harris and questioned this. I, also, have a GEICO policy on a vehicle but, I won't in 24 hours.., how about you?
ohhhhh, you thought we had rights? and were entitled to different beliefs and opinions?? sorry, not in 2013 America.
You crazies do realize that this is commercial auto policy right? Not personal lines?
Commercial auto policies are rated differently.
