Six of the 10 richest counties in the nation are in the Washington region, as median household incomes rise and Washingtonians benefit from a government-driven economy.
Loudoun County maintained its crown as the wealthiest county in the nation, with a median household income of $119,525 in 2011, according to data released Wednesday by the U.S. Census Bureau. And Montgomery County crept back into the top 10, as its household median income rose from $88,559 in 2010 to $92,288 in 2011 -- a spike of more than 4 percent.

Loudoun county is the greatest county in the country. The school system is amazing. There are at least 20 people from the Salisbury area that i know of that live here now. It is so awesome to see tax dollars being spent on things that better the community and not wasted on government expenses. This whole community is like a manicured golf course development. Salisbury is out of control and Joe know's how to fix it people. Get out and vote. I don't even like to travel to my home town because of what it has become. Like Joe or not, I think he could turn your community around. In 10 years I think it could be the jewel of Delmarva again. But if he doesn't win move to Northern VA. Except anyone from the current administration. Stay away and don't infect anyother community.
You really think that there is so much waste here that simply changing who sits in the mayor's office is going to make Salisbury into Loudoun? Let's please be real.
The average value of a single family home there is over $400,000 and they have 59.9 Billion in real property value to tax. Wicomico is $6.1 Billion. Don't you think that might make a difference in the quality of life?
Their Capital budget is $1.5 billion and Wicomico's is $12 million. They are a subdivision of the federal government.
Sure, everyone would like to have the great services they have, but I would not want their mortgage or tax payments.
Well the politicians here along with the county seats seem to make an big difference. So yes I do think 1 person can come and make a change. How many people blame everything on Obama or Bush? Their only 1 person. Did they make a difference? Good or bad? Loudoun county was smaller than Wicomico county 10 years ago. Today it's almsot 4 times bigger. We are 35 miles outside of DC. Most people here do not work for the government.
Here is 2 CNN reports. And I post this just because there is a common misconception about this area. I had the same attitude when I lived in Salisbury.
1. Money magazine has ranked Loudoun County as the best county in the nation for job growth from 2000 to 2011.
During that time period, jobs in Loudoun grew by 83 percent, boosted by the presence of major global businesses.
According to the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, the county is now home to 9,500 businesses and approximately 137,000 employees. The largest of those businesses include AOL, Raytheon, Verizon and Digital Realty.
2. "A Thriving Small Business Community"
"Loudoun’s growth isn’t only fueled by airport-related, government and tech businesses," Flynn says. "Loudoun also has a thriving small business and entrepreneur community, with more than 76 percent of Loudoun businesses employing fewer than 20 people."
According to Flynn, these small businesses range from tech start-ups to wineries. Loudoun’s robust agribusiness sector helps explain the fact that 46 percent of residents both live and work in Loudoun.
In addition to Loudoun being named as the best county in the nation for jobs, Money has also named Ashburn as one of the top 10 top-earning towns in the nation.
So yes, 1 person can make a difference and get the city on the right path. But it will take individuals to be creative and build businesses that will benifit more then just the Delmarva area.
I am telling you. VOTE FOR JOE if you want to even have a chance at getting Salisbury back.
