Wrong answer, flames are not coming through the roof, however it is a major cluster and an overkill with fire apparatus. I wonder if the fireboat is responding?
When we drove down 13 there were flames coming out the roof. The hook and ladder was being put in place. Was wondering if they were going to call out the fire boat also.It is close enough to shoot water from the river...lol

He said he was TOLD flames were coming thru the roof.
This area seriously needs a reading comprehension program.
Reading the words and understanding what you have read are not the same thing.
Anonymous Anonymous said... Sounds like there wasn't much on fire at all, but they have ruined a lot of items inside the building with a lot of water damage for nothing.

From firefighters or sprinklers?
There are no sprinklers on the roof so what would be your guess!
Last time I checked firefighters usually put fires out with water.... would you rather have minor water damage as a result of extinguishing the fire or actually have the whole building become involved and have all the contents of the building be a loss.

Yes they do use water to put out fire, but it doesn't take much to put out a small fire. Not so much water that it runs down through the roof and third floor to ruin computers and important documents on the second floor.

The small fire was reported to be on the roof not in the building on the third floor. A lot of damage was caused by the careless firemen. Sorry, but it's a fact.
The roof has been going under repairs most of this past week. Yesterday, at around 1 in the afternoon, some of us on the 3rd floor smelled smoke but the fire alarm never went off so we figured it was due to the repair work. I hope this was not a slow, smoldering fire waiting to erupt. Thank God it happened at night when the building was not full. I hope that our Security people who work nights are ok!
Yes - the fireboat needs a larger cannon. I am going to suggest for an additional line item budget to equip the fire boat with a monster cannon. One that will be able to shoot a stream of water from the Wicomico River to the Court House.
And while I'm at it - I am also going to ask for a laser guided satelite so as to enable the laser light to target the area for the water cannon.

There are no items on the roof either genius.
What the hell is wrong with some of you? You go get high then come here talking smack?
Oh wait. Has the somerset arsonist come to Salisbury? Is he on this blog? Have I talked to him? AM I talking to him?
Such a surge of weird people lately I can't be sure of who or what I'm talking to.
But one common thread they share is they have little to no reading comprehension.
You may want to start tracking them Joe.

Are you really that dumb or is it because it's past your bedtime?
sprinklers are on ceilings, not roofs

The fireboat has land wheels. That's why it cost so much. The other day I saw it being driven down Rt13.

Cost - 50 million dollars.
Perhaps the city of Salisbury could purchase its own dedicated firefighting aircraft?
Those USAF tankers can carry 10,000 gallons no problem...wonder if they are selling?

There are no items on the roof? Have you ever heard of air conditioners and air handling units?
Now who is the genius?

I was referring to books, computers, and documents. The ITEMS the commentor I was addressing used.
I am certainly not going to do an inventory list on any items located on the roof or anywhere else.
You freaking nitpickers need to go get laid or something.
It's not our fault you are miserable. Stop trying to make the rest of us as such.
You should be glad it was a small fire and you TAXPAYERS don't have to shell out for a new building.
You sure you want to be mayor of these people Joe?
Good luck with them.

Oh, it MUST be you sir.
How good of you to remember the industrial units on the roof.
Tell me, would water from firefighters be any different than the water from, let's say, RAIN?
I just love people like you. They make me laugh.
