The Salisbury Police Department is pleased to announce a joint crime reduction initiative in conjunction with the Maryland State Police and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department. This three month operation will be driven by information derived from data analysis of crime patterns throughout Safe Streets areas of the City and Wicomico County.
Coalition team members and allied agencies will proactively patrol and investigate criminal reports and quality of life. Chief Barbara Duncan is working with community members to insure these valuable and needed resources are responding to neighborhood issues as well as further

Hmmmm.....it used to be called community oriented policing. Not a new concept at all. In fact it should have been the foundation of their law enforcement philosophy the whole time. I hope Fruitland and Delmar are ready for the influx in crime that will inevitably result from this law enforcement push to curb crime in the city.
10:25, yep. It appears Chief Duncan is doing what should have always been done. My bet is Ireton forced her to do a press release to make it sound special. Jim Ireton would put out a press release about employees going to the bathroom and spin it as a special program if he could.
Can't wait until Ireton is gone, but unless Joe wins, you can count on Ireton's replacement being just more of the good ole boys he hitched his wagon to.
I LOVE how they're using the word "proavtively" now. Who's been talking about being "proactive" over the last year? Good to know someone is listening. This is how you take your streets back. I told you Barbara Duncan knows how to tackle problems like Salisbury is having. HOWEVER, Fruitland and Delmar better be well prepared because once they move this activity out of Salisbury they will settle close by.
