Socialist Party Member - Hollande wins French presidency over Sarkozy, Greek Voters Also Turn On Leaders

LATE BREAKING NEWS! Outgoing French President Nicolas Sarkozy addressed supporters at the headquarters of his Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) party after the preliminary results of the second round of the presidential elections were announced in Paris on Sunday, May 6, 2012. The first results showed a 52 percent lead for Socialist Party candidate Francois Hollande.

Mr. Hollande wants to renegotiate a hard-won European treaty on budget cuts that Germany’s Angela Merkel and Mr. Sarkozy had championed. He wants more government stimulus and more government spending in general despite concerns from markets that France urgently needs to trim its huge debts.

In light of this late breaking event - I anticipate that the US stock market will be poised to open down as European debt concerns continue to weigh heavily on the US stock market.

It seems that Sarkozy pissed off too many people by trying to put the French to work. Which begs the question - why in hell do the dems in this country want to be like them? Socialist economies don't work. There is a point of no return at which there is less money coming in than being spent by the government. Like France, and now, unfortunately the U.S.

"less money coming in than being spent by the government"

What hole have you been living in? This has been going on with both Dems and Reps in power for decades. The only difference is that the left agrees with the strategy when it provides a social safety net that we can't afford. The right agrees with the strategy when it supports a military industrial complex and handouts to big business. The problem is that the solution lies in a middle ground that we'll never find because so many like you subscribe to the "we are 100% right and the other side is evil" mentality.

To 7:55 Posting

All I can say is that the both neighbors to the immediate north of my house are unemployed. One has claimed permanent disability - (lime disease)- the other filed unemployment.

To the west - I have another neighbor who claimed permanent disability also. I have heard that his wife claimed permanent disability to - as she doesn't work either.

To the east - I have another neighbor who is unemployed though I believe this may be the only legitimate one.

To the northwest - I have another neighbor who was laid off too. And across the street from him - is another who was recently laid off.

To the south - I have another neighbor who has been out on disability for at least 5 years - and he is a young man.

I can tell you that all of the above is true.

This happened because the conservatives split their votes and should be a warning for November to get behind one guy and vote out Obama.

I think it's a shame that Ron Paul has been ignored by the media. He is the only candidate that has walked the walk while he talks the talk. Too bad for America...
