DALLAS — Two teenagers are in custody and a third is dead after an attempted break-in in southeast Dallas on Monday morning.
Police said the suspects were betting on entering an empty house — not facing an armed homeowner.
Investigators said the three young people rang the front doorbell of Lee Cobler's home in the 7300 block of Vallejo Drive. When no one answered, they went around the back and started trying to kick the door in.
But Cobler, 51, was at home with an adult son. The son was on the phone with 911 when police said Cobler opened fire on the intruders, killing 14-year-old Luis Avila, a student at Hood Middle School.

He should have jest left them in, gave them a big hug, and offered them some hot chocolate. They were just a bunch of harmless kids looking for Skittles!

Look, there's no mention of the race or color of the shooter. Neither is there a clear description of the race or color of the perpetrators. How in the he!! are we supposed to help Al Not So Sharpton and Jessie James Jackson tell us who is guilty here? Jeeze! If we only knew, the trial could proceed...
Thanks to this particular "Author" for portraying a press story on its merits and facts alone. We need more of this reporting to promote the "Innocent until PROVEN guilty" part of our America.

Probably the home owner was black and the kids were white. BUT you wont hear that.

It is in Texas, they'll probably give him a medal for killing an intruder. In Maryland he would be facing life in prison.
