Highlighted Events This Week in Wicomico Schools

NOTE: The Monday, April 18 Red Kayak Night at Salisbury Middle School has been rescheduled for Monday, May 2.

PJs for PJ Aldridge Day
Westside Intermediate School

Students of Westside Intermediate School in Hebron will take part in a PJs for P.J. Aldridge Day Wednesday, April 20, donating $1 to the P.J. Aldridge Foundation (at http://pjaf.org/ ) to wear pajamas as school that day. The foundation raises funds to support research and awareness of lung cancer, and was started last year by a Westside Intermediate mom who is friends with Aldridge. Aldridge, a gregarious and active Ocean City resident and surfer, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Students will also have the chance to win prizes for their Positive Attitude posters and to meet Aldridge, who will come to WIS Wednesday to judge the winning posters. Staff members are also welcome to participate in the fundraiser for the P.J. Aldridge Foundation. 410-677-5118.

Thursday, April 21-Monday, April 25
Spring holidays for students

Schools will close at the regular time on Wednesday, April 20, and will be closed for students for the spring holidays on Thursday, April 21, Friday, April 22, and Monday, April 25. Schools will reopen to students Tuesday, April 26. Thursday, April 21 is a professional day makeup day for many teachers, and the Central Office will be open as scheduled. All staff members will be off and all offices will be closed Friday, April 22 and Monday, April 25.
