So when is someone going to write in to say that this unfortunate incident wouldn't have happened if the BMS kids had a nice new facility such as the one that was voted down by County Council? After all, it must have been the poor facility that finally got set the miscreant off! Can you imagine: a middle school-aged kid beating another unconscious.
i dont see the big deal. if the unconscious kid started it, so be it. maybe that will be the only way he learns his lesson. if he didnt start it, just knock this kid out once to show him what its like.
You can't really believe that can you? I am all for a new middle school and yes, the council decision was idiotic. But to suggest that a new school would eliminate delinquent behavior is ridiculous. Genuine parenting and more severe consequences are the long term solution to criminal conduct by minors.
I think that maybe some people cannot detect sarcasm in others comments.
Do you recognize tongue-in-cheek tone when you read it? Apparently not. (You're probably saying to yourself, "What is tongue-in-cheek?")
Joe, My daughter goes to this school and she said the victim started it and is always picking fights. Not saying it was right but if this kid is instigating maybe a good knockout will bring him down a notch.
I know the person who struck the victim. I have never had a problem with him. As a matter of fact he has always seemed to be a pleasant kid to be around.Don't know what happened for sure but it is sad to see these kids messing up their futures at such a young age.
The kid who struck the student struck from behind. He is frequently in trouble but is 'special ed' and so has not been suspended. He knew enough to lay in wait and strike from behind though, very premeditated. He has not been 'pleasant to be around' at school but disrespectful and foul mouthed.
he will get his day in court..or a plea bargain ..
Columbine changed the tenor when it comes to schoolyard brawls
