Troopers Seek Public’s Help In Locating Escapee

Suspect: Richard Wright, 23, Wilmington, DE

 

Resume:  

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 23 year old Wilmington man after he fled from the parking lot of Troop 1 in Penny Hill early this evening.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. this evening in the parking lot of Troop 1 as Richard T. Wright, 23, was being escorted to a patrol vehicle in order to be transported to the Young Correctional Center. Wright had been detained by troopers during a car stop after he had provided them with a fictitious name. A subsequent computer check revealed that he was wanted by the New Castle County Police Department on charges of Theft and Conspiracy 3^rd Degree. Young, while in handcuffs, fled from the parking lot and was last seen running across Philadelphia Pike into Bellefonte. He is described as a black male, 6’00” tall and 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a grey fleece jacket, a black knit cap, and black gloves. His last known address was in the 900 block of E. 27^th Street, Wilmington.
