Pretty sweet Joe.

Great Job Joe, don't let the few hate bloggers get to you. They are jealous like a few others in the community.

Joe, not to swell your head any, but I had always thought about helping the Salvation Army to ring the bell, but just never knew the route to take. However, due to your always updating information, not only have I realized how easy it was to sign up, but I have done it for the past two years and will do again this year. Thank you again Joe for all you do!! Merry (almost) Christmas to you and yours!

True charity is anonymous.
You are using this for recognition and fame, but that's your style.

anonymous 6:50, Oh, I see, now there are rules to GIVING!

I think not. First of all, it's unfortunate there's no sound bites on my behalf. If there were you'd completely understand why we made the donation the way we did.

Besides that, you're clearly one of the anti Albero people, so no matter what I would have done you wouldn't like it or you'd call me a liar anyway.

It is because of the generosity of our advertisers that we are able to provide these kind of donations to local non profit organizations.

Salisbury News will make a multitude of donations YOU'LL never know about. However, this donation was to encourage the kick off of the Red Kettle Campaign and encourage others to also give back. You know, like the Daily Times, WBOC, WMDT. WICO, JT, JR. Quit "talking the talk and walk the walk." I walk the walk and that pisses you off. If you dislike me so much, why do you continue to come back day after day. Because you're obsessed with me. You want to be like me but you're not capable. I'm glad I can be the person you actually look up to every single day. Maybe we will find some good in you after all.

You know, I am so glad to see this. Living so far away, I am not able to see the local news, so you posting this lets me see what exactly the MSM is showing. The Anti-Albero people constantly want to complain that you only do this and that to line your own pockets. This should show them that you really do give back to the community and that you are a very important part of what makes the community so great! Keep up the good work, Joe!

$5K? That's it?? For someone who is so wealthy, you should be embarrassed. You say that you have deep pockets, but you sure have short arms. You're not walking the walk, you're simply tooting your own horn. No one wants to be like you...we mock you. When will you ever put it together that no one comes to this site because it offers any value...it's because you are a train wreck and it's hard to look away.

For all the people who are criticizing Joe consider this. He made a donation with a check presentation - just like other businesses do. You see check presentation pictures in the Daily Times regularly. If Joe was able to receive coverage from WMDT that helped promote the Salvation Army's kettle campaign - good for him!

You may not like Joe's opinions or maybe him personally - but it would be great to think that when it comes to charity - especially one like the Salvation Army - we could all come together for a common cause.

Whether you like it or not, accept it or not, Joe has helped motivate people to give and to volunteer - not just to the Salvation Army, but other causes too.

I wonder how much the negative people give, volunteer, support? Of course they will say they do it anonymously - but we'll never really know will we?

Give Joe the credit he deserves on this one and be thankful that the Salvation Army received such a signficant donation. After all, it is all about helping kids and families at Christmas so they have food, warm clothing and presents under the tree. That is what matters here.

7:52 I have to agree with your concept. You are a JERK!!! Joe does give and Joe does provide. You on the other hand, only give and provide venom. The only platform Joe provides for you, is for your to sign anonymous and we will not be able to track your train wreck. I would say "Get A Life", but this is how you choose to live yours, "On the seat of Joe's blog". GO JOE!!!

7:52 Why don't you put your money where your mouth is? Otherwise shut up!! Good way to start the campaign Joe. I thank you for your contribution. I know you do so much more than people even realize. What a wonderful gesture. Hope you will be ringing the bell this Christmas. We love seeing you out there. Maybe you could do a Christmas contest with the media. See who collects the most donations during the time you are all ringing the bell. Even though it's not about competition, it would certainly bring additional exposure to help The Salvation Army reach it's goal. Just food for thought.

Way to go, Joe!

How long, as Obama would say, before the "other side" makes false accusations and tries to get Joe booted off of the campaign spotlight again? Joe, stand tall, and raise record numbers again this year.

When I posted this morning, I meant to add this. When Joe donated the $5000 so publiclly, I knew that he was going to be in a "darned if he did and darned if he didn't" kind of situation. He was going to be criticized by the Anti-Albero Jerks because it "wasn't enough," and it was so public, and if he didn't do it he would be accused of "not putting his money where his mouth was." He has stated here a couple of times that he was donating his advertising dollars and T-shirt dollars to charity. I would love to see some of Joe's "haters" donate a large check publicly to something like Toys for Tots, or the Salvation Army, or Joseph House, or some other local charity. Oh, I forgot. They won't do that, because if they did it publically, they would then be the hypocrites that they accuse Joe of being.

You said it yourself, if it weren't for the advertisers you wouldn't make the donation. It didn't come out of your pocket so the real donors are the advertisers on your blog not you.

OMG! What jerks we have living around here. They don't like how Joe gave, they don't like how much Joe gave, they don't like this and they don't like that.

At least Joe DID SOMETHING. Some of you remind me of those parasites living on the back of whales.

And 707, the advertisers PAY Joe and Joe gave that money away. So Joe is the donor, duh.

I bet you and the others have ulcers from all the hate you have inside. Pathetic.

I concur. Lowlife non-acheivers who try to drag everyone down because they have no self esteem or ambition. Ignore them Joe and keep on doing what you have been doing for...how many YEARS? You are one of the FEW positive influences this sick little city has, keep it up. We need more like you.
