SALISBURY -- Trinity Sterile is offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the vandalism of its building over the weekend on Industrial Parkway.
An estimated $20,000 in property was damaged after vandals took sledgehammers to the walls, set off all of the fire extinguishers, broke glass in the downstairs labs and left beer cans throughout the property, including on the roof, said Michael Viner, special projects manager at Trinity Sterile.
"I know whoever did it has a heck of a hangover today," Viner said.
The building is undergoing renovations, including a new roof, and was scheduled to be opened in six to eight months as part of the company's expansion. However, Viner now expects the date will have to be pushed back.
Trinity Sterile has 110 employees and produces custom sterile procedure trays for medical personnel.
The building does not have security cameras installed, so the exact number of vandals or how they entered the building is unknown, Viner said.
"They entered one of three ways," he said. "They broke the window in the back and pushed the emergency bar to get in, jimmied the door or there is an employee from the former company who still has a key."
He went on to say someone knew exactly how to disconnect the fire alarm box.
Anyone with information is asked to call Trinity Sterile at 410-860-5123 and ask for the vandalism tip coordinator, or call the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165.
