Quote: "If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops In the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.
The firearm death rate in Washington , DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period. That means you are about 25 per cent more likely to be shot and killed in the US
capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US , than you are in Iraq .

I would feel safer in the capitol with a flack jacket and an M16. Maybe the problem is those strict laws. Huh?
Amazing. On the other hand, it is obvious that we are more safe when we are armed.
Our government wants to disarm us because they do not want us to be safe - from what?
Them!
I think the means of killing someone are different in Iraq. How many people were killed by IED in DC?

None yet, but give it time.
Hey listen: improvised explosive devices are bombs made from whatever is present. This is how poor opressed people fight to the last breath against a wealthy, technologically advanced army.
IED means things like stuffing a hand grenade up the rear of a dead cow, and then blowing it up when a snot nosed skin head walks near it looking to blow a hole in your head.
War is ugly.
We do not belong in this war.
The truly macho thing to do is admit we are engaged in an illegal and immoral war against civilians.
The middle east has been at war since the beginning of written
history. War is a religion for them. They believe in war. That's
why we should nuke the entire Islam
world. That way , they will all be satisfied.

Another pansy a$$ democrat rooting for Americans to be killed by a bunch of neanderthal barbarians.
A charter member of the hate America crowd.
Next time the idiots behead an American just defend the muslim terrorists again
I think we need to start a effort to get the right to carry on a referendum vote...for the right to carry in maryland! how can we do that? and where do I sign?
Umm, I know this post is old -- but I thought I'd point out that the math in the original post is WRONG.
2112 deaths for 160,000 troops = 1320 deaths per 100,000 troops.
1320 deaths is MUCH higher than 80.6 deaths in the DC area.
The whole post is bunk.
