Really, I thought that this only happened in pro sports.
In this week’s NCAA tournament game, and in two other games this year with Stevenson, a former Sea Gull player, Brett Yoder, played big for his new team and against the Gulls. This week he scored 3 goals for Stevenson, which won 11 to 9. Two weeks ago, when SU won, 13 to 5, he had 1 goal. In the first game, in early April, he had an assist and played aggressively on ground balls, also causing several turnovers in Stevenson’s 12–8 win.
During the years he played for the Sea Gulls, 2005 to 2007, Yoder had 30 goals and 55 assists and played on two national champion teams. This year he may play for another national champion, but on a different team. That’s how the ball bounces these days.
There may be a bit of rivalry with Kylor Berkman of SU, who was a first team All-American midfielder in 2007, when Yoder was an honorable mention A-A at that position. Berkman was again selected on the first team last year.
Does anyone know why Yoder left SU (apparently after the 2007 season)?

Maybe his parents thought it was to dangerous around here.
He failed out of school at Salisbury plain and simple. He then went to a community college to get his grades up, went to Towson in the fall but didn't make the team. So he enrolled at Stevenson this spring to play lax with a bunch of other players who failed to make Division 1 rosters. Stevenson lost today to Gettysburg in the Semi-finals of the playoffs, so his college lax career is over. Coach Berkman did give him numerous chances to get his grades up, summer term and winter term, but he just didn't get it done. I hope he has learned his lesson and gets his degree from Stevenson.
Two posts about SU lax today? What is it, are they wasting taxpayers money too? Why are you hating on SU lax today? They mostly bring positive national recognition to the University and a lot of the guys are upstanding individuals.
Maybe he was looking for playing time? Sports isn't something Joe understands.
Hmmmm maybe because Stevenson is a top team... heck, the #1 team in the nation. But you can't take anything from SU's lacrosse program!

Berkman - 42 goals, 41 assists
Yoder - 21 goals, 12 assists
SU has 6 guys with more points than Yoder.

sometimes people just do things because they want to..there doesn't have to be some big story as to why they did what they did.

Little bit defensive about the black marks the SU LAX team has had due to the grossly bad behavior of some of its members?
Straightforward post and some guys get their jock straps in a twist.
Salisbury lost in a qaurterfinal game. People are saying this season was a disapointment? That goes to show how good they have been this decade. They had a lot of young players this year, and will be back next year to win ANOTHER national championship

Well said Anon 6:34...Losing in the QF is nothing to be a shamed of, although the standard at SU is measured by championships.
And I wouldn't call DIII players failed DI players, I have known plenty of DIII athletes who chose to go to smaller schools for a variety of reasons.

Why not show some publicity for the girls lacrosse team, they have been rated number one for most of the season and have made it to the championship game. Salisbury is fortunate to have great players and coaches, you critics have NO IDEA of the hard work required of the coaches and athletes.
I'll tell you why. Because the Coaches don't send us information.
Doesn't that information come from the Sports Information Director at colleges (SID's) or someone at the athletic department, not necessarily the coaches?
SU's sports are great compared to some D1 schools.

SU did the right thing by kicking him out because of his grades. He was supposed to be a "student" athlete, not the other way around.
anon 7:27 got it right. Both of my sons played college lacrosse and it takes an enormous amount of time and dedication....time away from studies.
Both have now graduated and look back fondly of their lax days...but both will also tell you that prospective employers may think it's intersting that you played lacrosse...but what they are REALLY interested in is your GPA.
