Joe Albero Stole Christmas?

You just gotta love those Anti Albero Bloggers. Someone in the GOB should stop drinking so heavy on Christmas Eve and stay off the Blogs.

"Hi, I'm a homeless guys freind that you put out of work.Work that he had been paid to do for years .Untill this year that is.Because of your so called "great" help, this guy and many just like him weren't able to make enough money to pay there rent. And now the mayor has taken all their belongings. The bell ringing job is all many of them had . It was their only sense of truely feeling productive. And yes many of them are mentally challenged . Ringing that stupid bell was their only income. Thanks Joe, thanks alot. Oooo look at me ! I rang a bell for the salvation army. I think it may have not been as "great " as you think it was. Did you ever stop to think whos' job you were stealing? I bet not , and I'll tell you why. Cause egotistical people like you and the mayor rarely do, let alone think, of anything but your self.

Now , you realize you owe alot of homeless people a apollogy. The very least you should do is pay rent on a nice warm house for them untill it gets warmer outside. After all you did see to it ,rather dilligently might I add, that their only income was taken from them. Now who better watch out for karma! And yes he is big and knows mixed martial arts. Then after you put them out of work , you publicize the fact that all their stuff got taken. all because they could not pay rent on a place to keep it.And blame the mayor and cheif for only trying to make you happy. What is going on in that big head of yours? What were you thinking? I know, you weren't . This is exactly why the mayor is gonna fry that baby azz of yours. Karma baby, karma, its a bitch. And its karmin your way."

The Salvation Army shouldn't have to pay homeless people or anyone to bell ring. They make way more money with the help of volunteers. Joe did a Great Job getting a lot of the spots filled....Kudos!

THE MARE HAS SPOKEN!

I'm positive that these allegations are easily verifiable with the good folks at the Salvation Army:

1) I don't believe for one minute that the Salvation Army laid off anyone due to bell ringing duties being filled by volunteers.

2) The paid employees who were assigned bell ringing tasks had plenty of other things to do. When those slots were filled by Joe and other volunteers, that freed up their time to be devoted to handling the important tasks of assembling and distributing those massive care packages that filled the gym, as shown in this post from earlier this week on Salisbury News.

Merry Christmas! :)

people read what this bum is saying a HOMELESS GUY is now homeless because he couldnt ring the bell for the salvation army RIGHT like this money pays rent for the rest of the year SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIITTTTT The person that wrote this is an A$$ and maybe they should give that homeless person a place to stay

Didn't anybody get the fact that this was written by someone with a computer and an ISP? WOW!

This is ridiculous. There isn't a doubt in my mind that Joe was instrumental in the success of this years kettle drive localy. Google it and you'll see around the United States that the numbers were way down everywhere else. Great work Joe.

If you were such a friend to the homeless people then maybe you should pay their rent.

If these homeless people are capable of doing "work" then maybe they should get a real job.

What a loser... Merry Christmas to you anyway!

This is just out and out funny.
There are just so many levels I will not dare to touch on them all.

GREAT WORK JOE!
Bottom line.

Merry Christmas All...

Can't win for losing Joe huh. We make mistakes, just do what in the heart feels right.. and you did.

Many people, including the homeless, will benefit from this joint effort. Joe brought people together and ultimately assisted the Salvation Army from having to hire bell ringers. Even WBOC did an incredible job bringing in such a large sum of donations for the bless the children drive. So who's the hero here, the people who made all those donations, that's who. If you are one of those people that helped others this year, God Bless you.

Oh brother! Joe, I think you and everyone else who rang the bell did a wonderful job.

How exactly does this person explain the rest of the months out of the year for paying rent? Can't!

Contempt pryor investigation shows ignorance...

I do help the homless. And I do a hell of alot more than ring some bell and run around cheering myself for it !

But if that is your conception of doing good its better than doing nothing at all.

All I will say is a gift given with out compensation is truley a gift. When one expects something in return it becomes a investment not a gift. To want yourself to be noted for what you seemingly have done for free attaches a price to the deed. No matter how cheap it is ? It still cost something. Which is no donation at all. And how much write off on your taxes did the salvation army give you for your time ? Any how this is not what I was trying to bring to light. I just wanted Joe to know that theres a price to pay for every thing we do , even if we are not the ones paying it. Ironic isn't it ? Put the homeless out a few bucks to help give them a few less.

You are asking the wrong person to answer your question there 3:43 p.m.

Perhaps you should ask the homeless. You may get a lesson in economics while satisfying your curiosity . Just remember to take some chile or hot soup with you so that you to arn't bettering your self on the homelesses dime huh ?

They will be thankful for the meal. And you may find your self in a position that these very people will save you from a very humbling experience of your own. After all , they do know the wats of our streets. Its their home.

If loss of the bell ringing jjob really put this guy out on the street, why don't we chip in to pay his rent?

Put me down for $20 and 20 more people who do the same will more than make up for what he "lost" this year.

As long as its verifiable, why not?

Joe, do you consider yourself a Christian? Does your behavior towards others qualify as Christian behavior?

joe albero said...

When the day comes I will; answer to God, not you. Or haven't you gotten that yet Barrie?

Anonymous said...

Right on Joe. I think many believe these are the words of Barrie Tilghman. Who else would be so upset that the real Joe Albero is coming through after she has spent so much time bashing you.

In her own little mind DingleBarrie does think she is a Christian. She needs to look at her own behavior towards others. She is one miserable POS and she must be very lonely to be posting on here Christmas Day. Merry Christmas to you Barrie, signed One of Your Victims.

That's OK, let the anti Albero's stay negitive. "WE" helped the Salvation Army for free so they have more to give away, Joe's blog was the spark the community needed.

Whoever wrote that. You need a carbon monoxide detector because you must be all smoked up. I did 10 slots and refused to have my picture taken. I didn't know the homeless had computers and or laptops to post that comment.

Stay positive Joe, don't let them drag us into the gutter with them. Peace and Happiness to all.

Bizarre post. Over the years, none of the folks I've seen ringing the bell looked like the homeless. And I would question the wisdom of putting the homeless in charge of money donations.

Not because they are all dishonest or anything. But some are desperate.

Reality is, you cannot generalize about the homeless any more than any other group. Some are mentally ill. Some are not. Some actually prefer their way of life. Others have children and sure as hell do NOT prefer their way of life. But when one spouse leaves or dies, or the other has serious health problems without health insurance, out on the street they go after losing everything.

Work? How many employers will hire homeless people? Get real. One of the questions on an application is..."Address."

To the uncharitable, judgmental ones here...bah, humbug! to the lot of you!

As for this post, I'm more than a tad skeptical.

For those nay sayers who are attempting to put words into my mouth, use the link above, read the article and then come back here and tell me one place where I took credit with the Salvation Army.

Put your money where your mouth is. You may have read comments of others giving me credit but I have not done so.

Desperate people do desperate things. That being said Folks, I'm no longer going to allow comments that suggest something that didn't happen. I encourage ALL of you to go back to that article and see for yourself that what I am saying is 100% true. The Tilghman Administration are experts at twisting the truth. However, the buck stops here.

Exactly what I was thinking, but so eloquently conveyed by you.

The commentor was Barrie Tilghman or one or her minions trying to make the success of the Salvation Army something negative because it is tied to Joe Albero.

Lore Chambers is a racist pig that is so fond of the homeless people that I would venture the post came from her.

Anon 10:59 LOL-I had the same thought when I read this.

Someone definitely needs to lay off the booze, stop drinking bongwater or BOTH. I would have to call this post not just a hoax but a poor attempt at satire as well.By spending less money hiring people to collect, Salvation Army was able to do more with what they collected. Its way easier to write out a check than it is to give of yourself and your time and save the charity $5 per hour by volunteering to be a bell ringer. Its even easier than that to sit back and complain and help no one.Merry Christmas!

Joe, I want to thankyou for everything that you did for the salvation army... 50% increase- that speaks for itself. Without you and your countless efforts the salvation army wouldnt have had any money this year. YOu are the MAN.. You did it!!! Pat your self on the back and add it to your resume..

Yes Your point has been made, It is better to give freely to the lazy rather than provide a channel for them to earn what they end up with any how. I get it. How could I have been so blind. Do you think the mayor is putting something in the drinking water ? I was feeling so light headed. And I must of just imagined the few homeless guys I have truely giving endless numbers of hours to in order to "beter" themselves from the endless cycles many have found to be their reality. But what has been done is done. It really isn't the end of the world, as it was told to me by the very ones we are really trying to help here. If Joe and his "Dirty Dozen"(no pun intended) feel better about them selves then it is okay. Obviously they needed to perform the service more than the ones that were replaced. No pressures . God loves us all, inspite of ourselves. And may his blessings find all who need them. I'm sure there was no ill intent done on purpose. And thank you Joe, For caring when it appeared no one else did.

Could not resist writing a comment about this one. Lordy, 28 comments.

Homeless in this persons case, and only this case, means all the stereotypical impressions we have of homeless persons. Stupid, unable to process information, socially misfit, lazy, antisocial, and leaches on the society.

His/her comments are a waste of time, space and energy.

The one thing it did do, is degrade the whole group of "homeless persons" by association.

Good Job Volunteers...great job Joe in organizing, you of course, gave a great gift to the community your time, and yourself, the two most precious things we have to give. Merry Christmas.

But wait, does this mean the Mayor was also wrong for taking away the homeless peoples coats and tents and bedding. Just wondering!!!

A quote from Dennis Leary.

"This country, including you and most of the people related to you by birth or marriage or both, is populated by beings who have been so blessed for so long that they have become almost completely immune to any interest other than their own."

Thank-you for bringing the community together to help those who those are less fortunate than most.

But for the grace of God go I.
